- Submit testimony in support of Case Management Services for survivors of sexual violence.
Senate Bill 503 requires health insurance coverage for case management services for survivors of sexual violence. Case management—where the survivor’s mental health provider helps to link and coordinate with other service providers, systems, programs and benefits—is a service that is medically necessary for some survivors of sexual violence with mental health conditions caused by the violence to heal. Unfortunately, these services are not generally covered by insurance, which is a significant barrier to treatment as survivors’ cases can be complex and require substantial case management.
